6 Days Morocco Desert Discovery tour

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Valley of the Roses – Dades Gorges

Meeting at 8h00 a.m with your driver at your riad / Hotel and depart from Marrakech to Dades valley, through the Tizi- N-Tichka pass (2260m) in the High Atlas Mountains. From Marrakech to Ouarzazate, you will enjoy the scenic road, beautiful landscapes with different colors and the Berber villages along the way.

You will have free time here to visit the old Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by UNESCO in 1987. Ait Benhaddou is the World Heritage site that has been used as a backdrop for more than 20 films including “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Enjoy a walk to explore the traditional Moroccan style of architecture in which the Kasbahs are built, and have lunch. After exploring Ouarzazate film studios we go further south east to the green Dades valley and the city of roses via the fascinating Skoura palmery. We continue via valley of Roses to Dades. Dinner and overnight in Dades valley.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga desert

After breakfast, departure from your hotel in Dades valley at 8 a.m., taking the road of 1000 kasbahs drive around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley. 45 km further, you will get to Tinghir with it’s beautiful palm grove and Jewish quarter.

We continue to Todra Gorges (Todgha), free time to go on trek along the canyons of about 300m high, a favorite place for rock climbers. Afterwards you will leave to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara desert and you will have time for lunch on the way before you arrive to Erfoud. Then we’ll head for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.will be toward the 16.00 h we go to ride the camels who are waiting to take us on an adventure in the sahara,of the sunset and,when we arrive at the camp dinner and fire with drums music in the middle of the Sahara,this is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures, we will spend the night in nomad tents.

Day 3: Merzouga – Draa valley - Ouarzazate

Early morning, you will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, followed by breakfast in the camp the camel trek back to the hotel at the dune line for a quick shower.

We drive to Rissani, a small Saharan town in southeast of Morocco, here we can stop to visit a fossil workshop before we continue to Agdez and Draa valley junction where we head north to Ouarzazate after crossing the small volcanic Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Taznakht - Tarousant - Agadir - Taghazout

Today we head for the stunning coastline of Morocco. En route we will stop at Taznakht to visit Berber carpet weavers cooperative and marvel at their traditional skills, and Taliouin to visit the Safran cooperative and learn about the harvesting and production of the Worlds most expensive spice.

We arrive in Taghazout in time to take a dive into the ocean to refresh after your travel before we enjoy a delicious fish BBQ with fantastic views over the ocean as the sun sets. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 5: Surfing Day

Breakfast at 0900, we then make our way to one of the beautiful beaches in the area where your surf instructor is waiting to deliver your day (1030 - 1600) lessons, suited to whatever your level. Lunch is taken on the beach and all equipment is provided for your surfing.

Day 6: Surfing Day

09:30 Surfing half day to build on your skills from the previous day or perhaps you would like to try snorkelling. We return to our hotel around 14:00 and depart to Marrakech 397km
